HOW IT ALL BEGAN…

Our paths crossed back in 2020. We worked together handling dogs, learning so much from them as well as each other. It didn’t take long for us to bond as co-workers as well as friends. Long days, hard work & an undeniable passion for animals and dogs in specific; made it clear we were meant to find each other. We work as a team and balance each other out perfectly. ☯︎

Hi, my name is Mercedes!

I am 26 years old and was born and raised on Vancouver Island.

I have always had pets growing up, mostly cats and small animals but had a family dog named TJ when I was younger.

I have a passion for learning and understanding all different types of animals but to no surprise, my biggest passion is for dogs.

My true love for dogs sparked when I welcomed my very own pup into my life, Rebel. She has been my adventure sidekick since day one and inspires me to be more curious, playful, have a positive outlook and ultimately how to be loyal and love unconditionally.

I have been working with dogs for about 5 years hiking, walking, training, boarding and understanding dog behaviour, however, my favourite activity to do with dogs is teach them special tricks!

I am looking forward to connecting dogs and this beautiful rock we call home together!

Hi, I’m Jess! 

I’m a born & raised island girl & I absolutely love where I call home! 

It all started as a little girl walking my childhood dog, Keisha, around the neighbourhood. I was the eight-year-old girl teaching the younger kids how to walk the dog around the cul-de-sac. Keisha spent every second by my side….or quite possibly, I spent every second by her side. She was my best friend (& very tolerant).

Even from a young age, working with dogs has always been my passion and dream. We had many dogs growing up & I spent many summers on the farm. From horses, pigs, goats, chickens & of course dogs; you could definitely say I adore the company of animals over people! 

Then brings us to today; I have my soul dog, Harley! Over the last 6 years; I have been handling dogs professionally with Harley by my side every step of the way. He has pushed me to grow and taught me so much over the years. He is sensitive and in-tune with everything. I love hiking in the mountains & teaching dogs the art of coexisting with us, the pack and nature. I have a dedication to providing balanced training & obedience to each hound I meet! 

I’ve been lucky enough to have learned an abundance of knowledge & have had experience handling many different breeds, energies, behaviours and sizes in dogs over these years. I continue to further my education on handling, training & animal psychology everyday. 

From Harley & that little girl, walking her dog around the cul-de-sac and every other hound in my heart; I can’t wait to hit the trails with your pups and follow my dreams!
